Level 3 – Advanced Sinus Lift Training:

Predictable Posterior Maxillary Implant Surgery

Level 3 – Advanced Sinus Lift Training is designed for licensed dentists who are ready to expand into advanced posterior maxillary implant placement using predictable sinus augmentation protocols. This course focuses on hands-on execution of both crestal and lateral window sinus lift procedures performed on live patients under close faculty supervision.

This is not a simulation-based course and not observation-only education. Dentists actively diagnose, plan, and perform sinus lift procedures in real clinical scenarios, developing the confidence and judgment required to safely manage posterior maxillary cases in private practice.

Purpose of Level 3 Training

The goal of Level 3 is to prepare clinicians to treat posterior maxillary cases where residual bone height and sinus anatomy require advanced surgical intervention. Dentists learn how to select the appropriate sinus lift approach, manage anatomic variations, and execute grafting procedures with predictability.

Level 3 builds upon the skills developed in Level 1 – Basic Implantology and Level 2 – Intermediate Implant Placement, and serves as a critical step before advancing into full-arch rehabilitation.

Live-Patient Sinus Augmentation Without Shortcuts

All Level 3 training is delivered through live-patient surgery. Dentists perform sinus lift procedures directly, with faculty present chairside to guide technique, decision-making, and complication management.

Each participant benefits from:

  • Live-patient crestal and lateral sinus lift procedures
  • One doctor per chair with dedicated surgical assistance
  • Small cohorts limited to three to four dentists
  • CBCT-driven diagnosis and surgical planning
  • Real-time mentorship and case-specific guidance

This environment allows clinicians to gain meaningful experience managing sinus anatomy, membrane elevation, and graft placement under realistic conditions.

Clinical Techniques and Skills Covered

Level 3 – Advanced Sinus Lift Training focuses on both the technical and biologic aspects of posterior maxillary rehabilitation.

Training includes:

Dentists learn not only how to perform sinus lifts, but how to choose the correct approach for each patient.

Sinus Anatomy and Case Selection

  • Maxillary sinus anatomy and physiology
  • CBCT interpretation for sinus evaluation
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Patient selection and risk management

Crestal (Internal) Sinus Lift Techniques

  • Indications based on residual bone height
  • Step-by-step crestal elevation protocols
  • Instrumentation and membrane management
  • Simultaneous implant placement considerations

Lateral Window Sinus Lift Techniques

  • Lateral wall access and window design
  • Direct membrane visualization and elevation
  • Management of sinus membrane perforations
  • Bone graft placement and stabilization

Grafting and Biologic Integration

  • Selection of grafting materials
  • Membrane placement and stabilization
  • PRF and PRP integration for enhanced healing

Post-Operative Care and Complication Management

  • Healing timelines and follow-up protocols
  • Managing common sinus lift complications
  • Long-term predictability and implant success

Mentorship-Driven Advanced Surgical Education

Level 3 courses are intentionally limited in size to preserve a high-level mentorship experience. Faculty members remain chairside throughout the procedures, offering guidance while allowing clinicians to develop independence and confidence.

All instruction is delivered by practicing implant clinicians who routinely perform sinus lift procedures in daily practice.
